Measuring 18cm in diameter, this beautiful clock is made from solid brass, and features an 8 day movement by Hermle that needs to be wound once a week. This traditional maritime clock features a high quality keywound movement, with a white dial and neat roman numerals. The brass case is polished with a bevelled crystal glass mounted in the solid brass hinged door. This clock also features a jewelled escapement, representing a fine high quality German made clock by Hermle. 

The 1/2 hour striking ships bell movement strikes the bell each half hour with the number of bells increasing every half hour, ending with 8 bells at the end of each four hour shift. So for example, one bell would ring at 12:30, two bells at 1:00 and so on. At 4:30, the count will start again with one bell, increasing up to a total of 8 bells by 8:00, equalling 3 complete bell shifts over a 24 hour period. This clock features manual night time shut off, which is enabled by sliding the forward facing lever on the dial.
