215cm Decorative Oak Grandfather Clock with Westminster Chime & Moon Dial

This exquisite German-made grandfather clock features an impressive silver chapter ring dial with brass roman numerals and elegant hands. The chapter ring is set against a decorative brass plate to complete the dial. Above the dial is an inset moon dial above which displays the phases of the Moon as it progresses through a complete lunar month of 29.5 days. Rounding out the body is a traditional solid timber case that has been finished in a rustic oak finish. Additional features for this clock include antique brass key holes, hinges and door knobs, along with a hand carved top.

The solid timber frame features a decorative carving that frames the bevelled glass front door panel, which allows high visibility into the inner features including the clock movement, dial, brushed brass weights and lyre pendulum. This elegant grandfather clock houses a chain driven Kieninger movement, and plays the famous Westminster chime (also known as the "Big Ben" chime or the "Westminster Quarters"). In addition to these features, the clock also has manual chime on/off function, and an automatic night-time shut-off.

Traditionally, grandfather clocks have not changed much over the centuries and to this day they still represent the amazing craftsmanship of both clock making and carpentry, keeping in style with a passage of time that is still well loved in today’s society.
