In medieval times, an astrolabe was an instrument used to determine the altitude of the Sun or other celestial bodies.

This mantel clock features a solid wood base with a black finish, a polished nickel plate and a crystal glass dome that has been mouth blown. The exquisite chapter ring dial features roman numerals and a laser cut centre pattern that draws the eye. The highly accurate astrolabium features separate Sun, Moon and Earth spheres on a highly intricate visible gear train that reproduces the celestial movements.
