The German Christmas Pickle Tradition
A Christmas pickle is a pickle shaped ornament shaped that families treat as a game on Christmas. On Christmas Eve, parents hide the ornament deep on the branch of their Christmas tree. The tree’s pine needles camouflage the green pickle, making it especially hard to find.
