African Elephant (Female)
About The Elephant
The trunk of an Elephant is extremely flexible and strong, with over 150,000 muscles that allows them to lift objects weighing up to 300kg. Not only can the Elephant smell really well with their trunks, they also use them to suck in water, steady itself, lift trees up high, or spray itself with mud to stay cool. The elephant eats food by wrapping its trunk around leaves and grasses, plucking them from trees and feeding the food directly into its mouth. A grown animal devours up to 150 kg of green foliage a day. Interestingly, the ears of an African Elephant somewhat resembles the continent of Africa, whilst the ears of an Asian elephant somewhat resembles India, allowing for them to be easily distinguished.
