Disney- A Name That Needs No Introduction
The origins of the very first Disney inspired watch date back to 1932, when a man from Kansas City named Herman Kamen suggested the idea of a Mickey Mouse watch to Walt Disney, who initially didn’t think the idea would be a success. The very first Disney watch was released as both a wristwatch and a pocket watch, launched at the 1933 Chicago Exposition ‘Century of Progress’ and featured an image of Mickey Mouse on the dial with his animated hands moving to the minutes and hours. This watch proved to be an instant success, with the moving hands still often featured as a signature design feature to this day.
