High Torque Euroshaft Sweep Extra Spacing Clock Movement (26mm Shaft)
Euroshaft High Torque Quartz Clock Movement With Fittings
This Euroshaft quartz clock movement by Youngtown features a sweeping (non-ticking) high torque movement with all necessary fittings to assemble. Please read all of the information in the description below carefully to ensure the movement will be an appropriate fit prior to purchasing.
The movement has a total shaft length of 26mm. It is more quiet than other movements which makes it great for applications where silence is important. It also has an extended minute hand shaft to provide extra spacing between the hour and minute hands so they donβt rub on each other over time. This movement suits dials with a thickness between 0-12mm thick.
Please note: This movement cannot run a seconds hand.
Important note: This is a high torque movement, which is suitable for larger clocks with minute hands that weigh over 8 grams in weight, or which measure over 160mm in length. The high torque movement works by providing extra power to drive the larger sized hands around the clock. If your minute hand weighs less than 8 grams, or measures under 160mm in length, it may be more suitable to purchase a standard compatible movement instead.
Hands are NOT included by default with this movement, however we do have compatible euroshaft high torque hands which are available to purchase seperately HERE. Please note, we do NOT recommend using a seconds hand with this movement as they can malfunction.
Important note: We cannot guarantee compatibility between your existing hands and our movements. To avoid any issues, be sure to gather accurate hand hole measurements, and verify that they match the exact specifications outlined in this description. Please read the entire description thoroughly to ensure all measurements will work with this movement.
What Is The Difference Between Euroshaft Movements? (Standard, Takane & German UTS)
The main difference between a standard Euroshaft movement (which also includes Takane Euroshaft movements) and German made UTS movements are the dimensions of the minute shaft, which correlate to slightly different hand hole (collet) dimensions in the minute hand. This is applicable for both regular Euroshaft movements, and high torque Euroshaft movements. In German UTS Euroshaft movements, the minute hand dimensions are slightly smaller (3.5mm x 2.8mm), as opposed to a standard or Takane Euroshaft movement (4mm x 3mm). The hour hand dimensions are the same across the different Euroshaft movement types that we supply.
In addition, a German UTS Euroshaft movement uses a collar to secure the movement to a clock (which requires a slightly larger dial hole and thickness), whilst a standard Euroshaft movement instead uses a hex nut and a brass thread. For these reasons, it is important to measure your existing hand hole dimensions, the diameter of your dial hole, and the dial thickness prior to purchasing, to ensure the movement will be a suitable replacement. There are instructions on how to obtain this information further below in the description.

The Importance Of Getting Correct Measurements
In order to find a correct replacement, you will first need to gather a few measurements and information from your current movement. A model number alone does not provide enough information to replace a movement- you will also need to determine the following:
1. Type of movement/hands you are replacing (press fit, euroshaft or high torque)
Your current minute hand will be able to easily indicate what type of movement you have. Simply examine the hole in your minute hand.
- If it is round or has a hexagonal looking eyelet, and if the hand pushes onto the shaft then your movement is a press fit movement
- If the hole has two straight sides and a rounded top and bottom, then your movement is a euroshaft movement
- If your minute hand is over 160mm in length then we strongly recommend that you use a high torque movement
Please note, your minute hand hole should be visible. If there is anything protruding from your original minute hand then you may have removed the minute shaft with the hand by accident. To separate this shaft from the minute hand you will need to unscrew the hand nut on the front of the hand.
2. Hand Hole Dimensions (Shaft Diameter Of Hands)
As the shaft diameter for all hands varies significantly, your original hands may not be compatible with the replacement movement that you select. It is important that you measure the hand hole dimensions to confirm whether it is a match. If not, you can order replacement hands that will be compatible with your replacement movement. In addition, the total length of the hands are measured from the centre of the hole to the tip, not from end to end.
3. Total Shaft Length Of Your Current Movement
Measure the total shaft length of your old movement by measuring from the face of the movement to the very end of the shaft. This measurement is the entire shaft length when the movement has been removed from the clock. It is important to get accurate measurements especially if your clock has a lens. We also recommend measuring your dial thickness to ensure the replacement movement will be a suitable fit.
4. Follow Our Guide
For more detailed information on how to get these measurements, we have created an easy to follow guide (with pictures) and an additional video link which you can view here: Step-By-Step DIY Clock Movement Replacement Guide
